Disinfection and particle removal by a nature-based Daphnia filtration system for wastewater treatment

چکیده

Nature-based solutions (NBS) to treat wastewater are ecological treatments that work mitigate the impact of conventional systems in treatment processes. In this study, efficiency an innovative tertiary based on Daphnia filtration removing suspended solids and E. coli is evaluated combination with either vermifiltration or secondary treatments. NBS was found increase particle removal inactivation over a wide range water temperatures, solar radiation intensities, hydraulic residence times. Moreover, two models predict quality treated wastewater, one describes particles another for inactivation, developed presented here. Both depend temperature, exposure time reactor. The results using these align experimental all cases. Hydraulic times above 24 h allowed concentrations be reduced by >75 % temperatures 10 °C 27 inactivated 1–3 log units temperature ranging from 8 °C. can also used provide information regarding operating conditions (i.e. times) required obtain desired regenerated accordance reuse purposes regulations different countries.

Urban wastewater disinfection by filtration technologies

The microbiological quality of effluents from different macrofiltration systems (pressure sand filter and disc filter) used as pre-treatment and membrane technologies (microfiltration and ultrafiltration) was evaluated in order to determine their possible application as alternatives to disinfection of urban wastewater prior to reutilization. Microbiological quality was determined by reference t...

Improved wastewater disinfection by ultrasonic pre-treatment.

The objective of our work is to evaluate the scientific and economic potential of US application as a pre-treatment step in combination with UV to optimise the disinfection process of wastewaters. Ultrasound application of 20 s at low density of 30 W/l changed the particle size distribution (PSD) of the samples, the mean particle diameter dropped from 70 to 11 microm. Generally it is assumed th...

Removal of precursors and disinfection by-products (DBPs) by membrane filtration from water; a review

Disinfection by-products (DBPs) have heterogeneous structures which are suspected carcinogens as a result of reactions between NOMs (Natural Organic Matter) and oxidants/disinfectants such as chlorine. Because of variability in DBPs characteristics, eliminate completely from drinking water by single technique is impossible. The current article reviews removal of the precursors and DBPs by diffe...
